Billet Engineering is seeking experienced Fitters and Machinists to join our team in West Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. This is a full-time role where you will be responsible for the assembly, repair, and maintenance of a wide range of hydraulic cylinders from various equipment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of our manufacturing facility.
What you’ll be doing
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to carry out required work
- Operate a variety of manual and automated metalworking machines such as lathes
- Carry out, fault diagnosis, and corrective actions on various components.
- Fabricate and modify parts and components to meet specific requirements
- Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and implement process improvements
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used
- Ensure a safe work environment and comply with all relevant health and safety regulations
What we’re looking for
- Formal trade qualifications or a related discipline required
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Fitter-Machinist in an industrial or manufacturing setting
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
